We Are Back

by Andrew on October 30, 2010

Its going to take a few days to pick up were Anna left off when she decided to finally enjoy her retirement from blogging.

We fully intend to continue highlighting and acting on cases like Nick Hogan jailed for infringing the rules of the nanny state on smoking, and that of  Sheila Martin hounded by the Green Police in Sandwell.

Hopefully we can maintain the same  high standards as ‘Anna Raccoon’

Sheer joy to see the site surface in my RSS reader. I left it there on the offchance something might reappear one day.
Any chance you can persuade Anna to write the occasional piece on expat life in France? We didn’t read her *just* for the heavy stuff you know.

Spot on Fred. It was Anna’s wonderful french pieces and the often humerous but always understanding observations on French life that first attracted me to the blog.
I would still nominate her ‘This is France’ piece, about the highwire act as probably the best piece I read online anywhere in the last year.
Please Anna some guest posts would be lovely.

PS
And I hope you’re signing up the monastic community!

To coin a phrase: Hello (again) Good Evening and Welcome!

So very pleased with this!

Thank God I didn’t delete the link from Google Reader.

First the resurrection of Obo; now Anna R rises from the ashes. Anybody would think it’s Easter.

Hurray!

13 AnnaNonAMoose October 30, 2010 at 18:55

Good to see it back.

Will the entire history of everything blogged there in the past also be resurrected, the archives preserved for research and quotation sources?

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay !

Its a good day. Welcome back

Anna won’t believe this, but it’s true. I really am pleased to see this blog back; disappointed that its incomparable founder will no longer be gracing us with her pen.

Anna infuriated and captivated me in equal measure. At her best, she was simply sublime; a writer I would kill to be able to emulate: at (for me, at least) her worst, she would wreak fearful havoc with my blood pressure. But perverse though it may seem, writers I actually like do that.

Anna’s pieces on Holly Grieg were incisive, meticulously researched searching and powerfully stated. It was mainly her pieces on the McCanns that gave me apoplexy.

Anna is inimitable; I know nothing about those who will take up her mantle. Their style will inevitably be different from Anna’s, but I’m sure they will do full justice to a fine tradition of blog writing.

I look forward to reading the new pieces. And I may even offer the odd piece of feedback. Over to you.

Great news!

Fab!

I’m sad, though, that Anna didn’t share her troubles more with her readership because she might have been bouyed up by the support she would have received.

I’m looking forward to this new phase.

Nice to see the site back up and running, lets hope it continues uninterrupted.

Welcome back, Anna – this has to be the best news this week, especially as Mr E has hung up his blogger’s hat!

Perhaps he’ll follow your lead!

What can I say that has not been said!
Keep it sharp – and keep it pointed.

Just had a look at a website about Hollie Grieg. Why arn’t they happy about what’s been said about them by Anna Raccoon?

‘Just had a look at a website about Hollie Grieg. Why arn’t they happy about what’s been said about them by Anna Raccoon?’

Asking the wrong people, you need to ask them why they are upset.

35 Guthrum November 3, 2010 at 18:53

You need to ask them !
