Today sees the return of our little piglets, carefully fattened over Christmas, to their favourite trough.
Off to a frying flying start, saving their own Bacon, the first item on the agenda is ‘Topical Oral Questions on Justice’.
To include, no doubt, the vexing question of whether the 1689 Bill of Rights makes them immune to prosecution for defrauding tax payers; closely followed by the Fiscal Responsibility Bill. What irony!
The official Labour Party lawyers, Steel & Shamash (shld that be Steal and Shameless? Ed) are of the opinion that there are important constitutional and legal arguments to support their claim that any fraud carried out by their clients is covered by the principle of Parliamentary immunity from prosecution.
Jim ‘to trough is human, to steal’ Devine, is sharing the cost of this novel defence with Elliot Morley and David Chaytor, the three MPs informed sources consider to be most at risk of prosecution. Mr Morley and Mr Chaytor both claimed thousands of pounds for “phantom” mortgages they had paid off. Mr Devine submitted invoices for electrical work worth £2,157 from a company with an allegedly false address and an invalid VAT number.
A crackling good start to the 2010 version of ‘You couldn’t make it up’!

This is serious stuff. These MPs are trying to delay proceedings long enough to claim their
I saw my MP going to work today but his carriage was yellow. Great shot by the way!
Transport seems suitable for the Troughers Unlimited especially in the snow – hope they don’t get too cold!
They really are appalling and why anyone would want to offer support to them I’ve no idea
The snow again highlights what a crap country this is – no grit, roads, railways, airports closing, people stuck in places they don’t want to be, it’s all so bloody appalling. What about the head of Met Office getting 25% pay rise as the warmest snow in the country comes pouring down………

Morley: I’m not guilty of any offence
Tuesday, January 05, 2010, 06:30SCUNTHORPE MP Elliot Morley has said he is not guilty of any offence but said he is not immune from prosecution over his expenses.
Press reports over the weekend suggested lawyers working for three Labour MPs, including Mr Morley, were working to see if free speech law Parliamentary Privilege could protect MPs accused over their expenses.
But the Scunthorpe MP, who is stepping down at the next election after he claimed
Great picture of a trougher enjoying a ‘sty-drive’ holiday.
I’m not even remotely surprised, if you have the front to claim for non-exsistent mortgage interest, you’ll think nothing of stalling having to pay it back. By any means neccessary.
Its the fact that honest ( Ha, Ha) MP’s, who haven’t been claiming every last possible penny, aren’t trying to get these crooks out of westminster asap – without letting them claim the ‘oh no, i need money to cushion my change of circumstances’ bonus.
Do they not care this is making their all ready ‘shot’ reputation, even worse ?
If I take nothing else from this day on the planet,
