Unfortunately they are statistically more likely to drop dead at an early age!
Never mind the fags, or the salt, it is the blogging that will get you first.
Even after adjusting for body mass index (BMI) and smoking, the researchers found that women who sit more than 6 hours a day were 37 percent more likely to die than those who sit less than 3 hours; for men, long-sitters were 17 percent more likely to die.
Those who sat a lot and moved less than three and a half hours per day are the most likely to die early: researchers found a 94 percent increased risk for women and 48 percent increase for men, they announced recently in the American Journal of Epidemiology.
Try these tips for getting more exercise whilst blogging:
Read the Daily Mail on-line first thing in the morning – punching the computer screen is good aerobic exercise and can help protect your heart.
Put your keyboard on the other side of your desk – the constant stretching will increase your lung capacity, and you won’t get toast crumbs in between the keys any more.
Book mark one or more conspiracy sites, clenching your buttock muscles will protect you against incontinence as you grow older.
Read Tom Harris on a daily basis. Following his whinges regarding the difficulties MPs are currently facing accessing our tax pennies will do your heart good.
Light another fag, put more salt on your bacon sarnie, engage keyboard, and make the best use of the time you have left – keep on blogging.
Any more suggestions?

“A new study from American Cancer Society researchers found that women in particular who sat for longer than six hours a day during their leisure time.” Blogging is not “leisure” by any stretch of the imagination so worry not, Anna.
Furthermore, this study appears to show the discovery of eternal life, (namely squeezing your butt while raising your shoulders up to your ears, or so says the report in Biomed ME) as those who did that a significantly reduced chance of dying, down from 100%. Marvellous news.
“women who sit more than 6 hours a day were 37 percent more likely to die than those who sit less than 3 hours; ”
